Blessed Is She That Believed!
HISTORY
For 2 years we prayed for God to do a mighty work in a ministry for women. We did not know what to call it. We did not know what to do for a program, we just prayed for God to open doors and lead us into a ministry that would encourage women and help each of us grow closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
After attending a conference in January, Nancy and I decided we would have dinner and a time of encouragement. We did not make any reservations as we thought we would have plenty of room at a 6-8 top table. That night we filled a room with 20. February, we moved locations and filled the room with 28. March, we again moved to a larger location and filled the room with 39! No marketing, no pushing, just God leading.
NOW
What we thought would be dinner, has grown and we began asking God for His help. As you know. First Emmanuel lost their church building in a fire and that included their fellowship hall. To set up there is a great deal of labor and moving things in their only meeting space. We did not want to put that on the people. We also wanted a place centrally located so we just put it in the hands of the Lord. He leads this ministry so we knew he had a space where we could not just meet, but worship and did He ever have a plan!
NEW LOCATION
Our new location is PALMETTO LAND CHURCH in Summerville. They have graciously opened their youth center, fellowship hall and fully stocked kitchen!!
Y'all!! Do you know what an answer to prayer this is?
What a mighty God we serve!!!
DETAILS:
1. HELP WANTED
We will need to set up and tear down. This will not take much, but if you're able to come early, we would love the help. 5pm Evening clean up will be simple if we all pull together.
2. NO ALCOHOL
There is to be no alcohol on the property. None! This will cancel our contract.
3. POTLUCK DINNER
Rather than pay $15-$20 for a meal out, we ask that you bring a dish to share! Each month we will have a themed potluck dinner. Bring what you can share! Plan early so it's not a burden on you. Sign up sheet will be posted next week. Be thinking!
4. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
If you play a musical instrument, we would love to talk to you. If you wish to be on a committee to help with meals, clean up, set up, greeters, registration, skits, packaging materials...etc. We would love your help!
5. INVITE
We thrilled to lift the "space is limited" sign. We have room to grow and we are thrilled to lift that. BUT we still need your help with the RSVP. We purchase supplies each month and we don't want to under purchase, nor do we want to over purchase and waste limited resources.
6. EASY PARKING
Lots of handicapped parking and the building is EASY accessible with one little step!
7. PLEASE PRAY
We need prayer warriors to pray with us about this ministry and that we keep our eyes on Him. We know when God is working the enemy fights and he knows our weakness.
We are rejoicing at what God is doing and all praise is His. We simply follow. Thank you for your part! You are loved!
